DD Awareness Month

We want to celebrate those we serve

March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. As we do each year, we want to celebrate those we serve, those we love living with a developmental disability. Throughout the month we will be sharing a variety of videos and stories on those involved with The Arc and our programs, but we also want to share the faces of our families.

Please share with us an inspiring photo of your child, brother, sister, friend. This may be of them at work, playing their favorite sports, with their friends or during a program at The Arc or school. Share a picture with us and watch for them on The Arc’s Facebook page throughout the month. We will end the month with a photo album of all the pictures submitted and link them in the weekly e-Newsletter scheduled at that time for all to see. You can email the pictures to Kfish@arc-sedgwickcounty.org or mail or deliver them to The Arc, 2919 W. 2nd, Wichita, KS 67203.

Awareness month is also a great opportunity to educate our community. The Arc of Sedgwick County provides programs and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and acts as a resource for families, individuals and the community. The Arc presents to thousands annually and can tailor a message to your needs. Checkout this link to hear one of our stories … this one is from one of the United Way of the Plains closing celebrations of their annual campaign.

We look forward to the opportunity to visit and determine how we can best share with your congregation, civic group, or organization.
